think we should tell you about our week.

the staff was fantastic they were all smiling and seemed like they had won the
lottery because they moving in a manner to say that they were so happy, not just
in the restaurant but also downstairs in the bar they were polite and could not
do anough for us , these places are very rare these days are we would like you
to congratulate them on our behalf because it has made us relise that we want to
come back next year ,
even the manager came out to check if we were alright and thats great to have
pride in your work like that, we found out later that is name is tiny well done

JULY 10th Comment on St Martin's Hotel
I just wanted to drop you a short email to say thank you to both you and Kylie for the arrangements, flexibility and excellent service
while we stayed at St Martin's on the Isle last weekend. Annie and I got engaged and we had a wonderful and memorable time
that we shall remember for the rest of our lives. I could not have been happier with the service we received and the time
we had - I only wished we could have stayed longer.

Thank you to the staff at the Atlantic Hotel. We arrived earlier (by 8amish) than we expected on Monday morning, travelling BIH! Had to wait forthe boat to St Martins so went into the Atlantic Hotel and asked if we could get a cup of coffee or something - ended up with a full English Breakfast and all done with a smile!

Hard to pick out a 'winner' but the biggest suprise for me, after not coming over for quite a while was the quality of the food - both in the shops and in the bars/restaurants. We had some really good meals including at the Atlantic, the Turks Head and the Old Town Inn. But the pick of the pack has to be the Seven Stones. We had 4 different dishes and they were all fantastic, from the pasties to the seafood platter. We enjoyed it so much we bought the book - the Island Ingredient - which has been very well used since. Not just a coffee table book but a source of some excellent recipes.
Cheers,

St Mary's
After visiting the scillies regularly as a child staying at Breakaway on st Martins with Steve and Colin daly, I always wanted to bring my children
5&3 so the week before last i did just that .We had a fab time we were very lucky with the weather and did all the things i had done as a child.
I would like to mention the staff at the KAVORNA who were superb friendly and chatty especially with the children also the staff at BLUE
that took the time to take my daughter to the kitchen and show her a lobster she was thrilled.i must also mention the food there was excellent!
Lastly I must mention the lady at the ice cream shop opposite Holgates Green she was Fab and very helpful telling us about the play ground
and pirate ship up by Star Castle which is a very well kept secret for some bizarre reason. One other thing where do you get a bucket
and spade on St Marys couldnt find one anywhere ended up getting one at the post office on St Martins.
We will be back very soon. Clifford Freeman- June 09

Hi, I've just got back from staying on St. Martins, where I had an excellent time. Completely by coincidence I met up with some friends I had not seen for ages whilst on the island and we went out for dinner at the Bistro Bar in the hotel. Our food was excellent, especially the crab cakes, and the service was first rate. We all had a lovely evening. They certainly deserve a mention.

Hi – we have just returned from the Islands after a yet another fantastic week’s stay on St. Agnes. Can we send a recommendation that the High Tide restaurant be placed on your Wall of Praise. A wonderful little restaurant secreted away on St. Agnes, serving delicious food prepared to the highest standard by Mark, excellent customer care – especially by Angus, who was very knowledgeable about the menu content, when we were there. It was our third visit since it first opened in 2007 and it continues to improve year on year. Dot & Alan Dunning. Looe Cornwall- June 09

This is Gill from Silverdale in the north west, we are just home from our annual visit to the islands listening in to try and make the return home more bearable. I promised my husband, Stef, there would be no tears this year, so I had to resort to poetry, does anyone else have this problem when leaving Scilly, or is it me verging on obsessive behaviour?
I wrote this while sitting on the Scillonian staring back over the stern as we sailed back to Penzance:
Heart lost amongst distant shores,
Beyond the sunlight that dances over the sea,
The bow wave foams with soothing lament,
Gently consoling me.
Still visible on the horizon,
Gentle islands bid goodbye,
The ship carries me further away from you,
Her stern flag waves with wind blown sigh.
I watch as saddness blinds my eyes,
As you fade to distant blue,
Longing for the day to come,
When I joyfully return to you.
Keep up the good work, Gill xx- June 09

We have just returned from the most fabulous holiday in the Scillies. It is truly a superb place to visit with our children and we have all left with fantastic memories to treasure.
We thoroughly enjoyed listening to your programme on Radio Scilly each morning while we prepared breakfast – it was a fantastic opportunity to hear about what was going on each day, particularly the weather and the boat schedules. The music was great too! Most importantly, it was because of you that we all took part in the Scilly Stride for Life run to raise money for cancer research. I have just been on the website to look at the photos and listen to the broadcasts. Lots of fun and a great cause.
We have returned to the Worcestershire eager to tell our friends of how beautiful the islands are and how welcoming and helpful everyone we met was. The children particularly enjoyed the freedom they could experience – going off cycling and walking without any fears. It was a refreshing taste of the best of what the UK has to offer. Fortunately, we didn’t get to do all we planned, and so shall have to return one day in the not too distant future.
Well done Isles of Scilly. We wish everyone a wonderful and profitable summer. We shall tune in on-line to keep in touch with the local news!
Kind regards,
Catherine- June 09

Hi, it's difficult not to add everyone we had contact with but I've tried to keep my list short. Isles of Scilly parking (not really on the islands I know). I'd arranged to park my car with them and ended up in a hurry and forgot to drop my bags off at the ferry. They very kindly gave us and our bags a lift to the ferry. Fantastic service and I had a valet and some dents sorted out too. Rosie Turtle at Porthmellon Flat. She helped us out when our chosen accommodation fell through. Wonderful flat, great location. We were short of nothing plus we got lovely flowers and chocs too. Loved listening to Radio Scilly in the mornings.

We have just spent a most enjoyable week on St Mary's & would like to recommend unreservedly our B & B accommodation at Pelistry Cottage, Hugh Town. The room and facilities were spotlessly clean & breakfasts delicious and very substancial with a wide choice. The owners, Anne & Chris Hall, both passionate Scillonians, went out of their way to make us feel at home and despite being very busy gave very freely of their time to provide us with a wealth of information about the islands. They made all their guests feel welcome and special.
This was our second stay with them and we shall certainly return. We love your islands. Please keep them just as they are!
Best wishes

Hi Keri,
I see you are asking if any one had a great holiday on Scilly and who made it special?
I had the best holiday of my life back in March when I returned to Scilly after thirty eight years. I registered for the top to toe walks during the Walk Scilly week and each and every day turned out even better than the previous day. This was all achieved by the wonderful people like Sophie Bromham or Sopphie Hughes and friends who organised the week and the individual people that brought us on these magical walks each day .All this was finished off in the Scillonian Club on the Sunday after the Charity Walk, and here we were treated to the most delicious Stew and Dumplings while listening to the fantastic band playing the most entertaining music, to which some of the singing was wafted in our direction through an old megaphone. This was achieved with ease as the singer lost one of the lenses of his glasses. What professionalism.
But the lady of the week and especially that Sunday afternoon for her sheer dedication and attentiveness goes to Amanda Jane Martin.
As you all know, Scilly is a very special place.
I know Amanda Jane Martin is a very special person.
